From Swing to Salsa

So in Wheaton I loved going Swing dancing down at Frankie's in Naperville---- if you haven't done it, you should. Live music, dancing, hanging out with friends--- good times.  Anyway, I have started to take salsa lessons now, and I love it!  I go with some people in my class and we have a really good time.  Its only one hour two times a week, and I love the fact that I don't think about school or anything else, or anyone else during that time... just dancing (and shaking my hips--- not a lot of hip shaking in swing!).   So, the update in my life. I'm still learning more and more about my culture.  I love it. I'm really enjoying living down here.  Will I stay here for good? Well, only God knows, but probably not because I want to live where my family lives.  See, when my brothers and I were kids we had this master plan: My oldest brother Edwin was going to be an austronant (wow, don't know how to spell that word), My other bro Tito, he was going to be an electrician and I was going to be an engineer. So, once we got into our professions and got filthy rich, I, as the accomplished engineer, was going to build this huge mansion for us, my bros and parents.  Everyone would have their own floor so everyone could have their own families.  So: I was going to build the house, Tito was going to provide the electricity and the TV and stuff and Edwin.... well, we were going to watch him on TV as he went to the moon.   :) Funny how kids are and funny how things change.  However, if given the option of my family living in a huge mansion with everyone having their own floor---- I wouldn't think twice about it. I would love for that to be true.

I hope you guys are doing well.  I'm still really behind in all my work. Today I'm going to focus on just Anatomy: lower limb---hopefully it will stick!!!

Success!!!

I am happy to report that I havce passed all my tests!!! I wish first year was done and I could move on to second year med school :)  I'm happy with it, but like always, I've left room for improvement. I mean, we can't start out doing amazingly well the first time around, wouldn't want to make people feel bad.  So, I took a week off after the block, which was kind of nice. I'm slowly starting to get back into the swing of things... key word here slowly! I'm going to my home town this weekend, which I'm excited about because I haven't seen my family in a while.  There is so much going on in my life, but seems kind of weird to type it all here for the world to read.  Im enjoying school and the classes. Its fun to study something that you actually like and understand.  Also, I like my friends. I also miss my friends from home, but atleast I found friends here--- which was a worry for me before I came here.  What else can I say. I don't have much time to think of new things or anything other than classes for that matter. I talked to my bro the other night for like 2 hours. It was so good.  I've also enjoyed talking to some of my friends. I'm slowly but surely getting caught up with people again.  Keep my in your prayers ya'll.... although I enjoy this, it is a hard journey spiritually.  I often find myself lonely in that aspect.  I miss you guys and keep those comments coming... I love reading them :)

Block One

So... in my school they do a thing called a "block" or "el bloque".  Basically its all the tests at the same time.  I've taken 2 (actually 4 because each of those are a class plus lab), and I'm tired.  I have three left. Two of the hardests. So, if I'm not keeping up with people, that's why. Please have mercy on me:)
